Sustainable Thinking Scotland CIC

That the Parliament welcomes the Build It award of £25,000 that has been given to the Bo'ness-based Sustainable Thinking Scotland CIC (STSCIC) from the Scottish Government’s Social Entrepreneurs Fund, through Firstport; notes that STSCIC is run by Sean Kerr and Steve McQueen and addresses a wide range of social and environmental issues in the Falkirk area; recognises its work in applying sustainable design principles to food production, energy generation, low-impact living, permaculture design, land regeneration, waste management, water capture, woodland management and biodiversity; understand that the assets and profits that it produces are used for the public good, including the donation of fresh fruit and vegetables to food banks and community cafés; recognises that it aims to support community interaction and inter-generational communication, encourages new and innovative methods to addressing the issues faced by society and works with its local green network and education boards to provide opportunities for people from deprived areas; congratulates Sean and Steve, and everyone involved with STSCIC, on this funding, and wishes them continued success.
