Queen’s Nurse Title for Margaret-Ann Williamson
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Margaret-Ann Williamson on being awarded the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse by the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland (QNIS); understands that this is only the second occasion that this honour has been made in Scotland in almost 50 years, following the reintroduction of the title in 2017; recognises that Margaret-Ann, who works for NHS Forth Valley, was nominated by managers at the health board for providing high quality, compassionate care to people in her local community; considers the Queen’s Nurse title to be a mark of professional excellence and comes from Queen’s Nursing, which dates back to the late 19th century in Scotland; further congratulates Margaret-Ann on receiving her title, and wishes her continued success in her profession.
