The motion

That the Parliament celebrates the work of Jill Lauder, of Lady J’s Unisex Hair Salon in Grangemouth, in bringing about the Feel Good Project, an award-winning community initiative held on the first Monday of each month, where people with cancer can enjoy a cup of tea, a chat and some beauty treatments; understands that Jill was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by CVS Falkirk for the project, which she started four years ago after losing two good friends to cancer; notes that the project brings people together from the NHS, Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as beauticians, beauty therapists and make-up consultants from businesses in Grangemouth; considers that the Feel Good Project has a significant positive impact on people living with cancer who visit the salon through providing a supportive and welcoming atmosphere that allows people to share their experiences and support each other in a space where they can relax for an afternoon; encourages other people and communities across Scotland and the UK to follow Jill’s lead with projects such as this; celebrates Jill and her team of volunteers at the Feel Good Project, and wishes all involved every success going forward.
