Ross-shire Students Win in Nationwide Film Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ross-shire students from Tain Royal Academy on their win at the annual Gaelic film competition, FilmG; recognises that the FilmG short film competition began in 2008 in order to develop new talent for the Gaelic channel, BBC ALBA; notes that the Ross-shire students won best young filmmakers for their film, Fáisneachd Dedrick (Dedrick’s Prophecy), about a businessman struggling to come to terms with his wife’s death; congratulates Ross-shire’s Alness Academy on making the final shortlist for the award, Gaelic learners, with its production, Gaol anna a’Chogadh (Wartime Love), and wishes the students from Tain Royal Academy, Alness Academy and the other bright student filmmakers the best in their future film endeavours.
