Motion · S5M-15978 · 22 Feb 2019
Unexplained Closure of Alloa Post Office
The motion
That the Parliament expresses dismay at the ongoing closure of Alloa Post Office without official explanation; notes that it was closed, apparently temporarily, until further notice on 6 February 2019; shares the exasperation of many local residents and businesses at the closure, especially the customers of RBS and Santander banks, which it considers justified recent branch closures on the basis that banking services would be available through the Post Office that is currently closed, and calls on information to be urgently provided to residents and businesses affected by the closure, and the restoration of services as quickly as possible to prevent any more disruption and inconvenience than it considers there has already been.
