Emotional and Wellbeing Hub for Carers
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the pop-up emotional and wellbeing hub for carers at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh; understands that the hub is designed as a one-stop-shop for people who help look after a loved one; further understands that the event will feature a dozen stallholders offering expert advice and support, including workshops for managing stress and information on the various services available to caregivers in Edinburgh; notes that the event is supported by the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership and coordinated by VOCAL, which provides unpaid carers with information, peer support and access to services; recognises that being a carer can be extremely rewarding but also stressful in meeting the everyday demands of work, study, home and making time for themselves, and appreciates the great work undertaken by carers and the support that this event will provide them.
