Fairtrade Fortnight 2019
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Fairtrade Fortnight 2019 takes place from 25 February to 10 March; understands that, this year, the campaign aims to highlight the need for a living income for farmers in the developing world, and that women farmers in particular are often underpaid for their work; commends all those who are holding events in communities across Scotland to mark Fairtrade Fortnight; welcomes the representative of the Sholi Coffee Co-operative of Rwanda who are visiting Scotland as guests of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum, and representatives of Zaytoun olive oil from Palestine who are visiting Scotland as part of a UK tour, and congratulates the Scottish Fair Trade Forum on its leadership in supporting the continued status of Scotland as a Fair Trade Nation.
