Dundee Women's Festival 2019
The motion
That the Parliament commends the organisers of the 2019 Dundee Women’s Festival, which takes place from 2 to 16 March; notes that the conference recognises and celebrates International Women’s Day on 8 March; supports the aims of the festival to celebrate the women of Dundee and the world, and to recognise women’s rights, qualities and achievements; commends the event organisers for hosting the Centenary Suffrage Conference, which seeks to raise awareness of some women being granted the right to vote over 100 years ago and encourage women to recognise the importance of using their democratic right to vote; wishes the organisers every success with this year’s event, and commends their efforts to support women in Scotland and beyond.
