Marie Curie’s Great Big Daffodil at the Gyle Shopping Centre

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal on its Great Big Daffodil installation, which will be on show inside Edinburgh’s Gyle Shopping Centre from 13 to 15 March 2019; understands that, behind every daffodil, there is a story, with people wearing daffodils for someone they have lost or sharing support for Marie Curie nurses; notes that, for this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal, Marie Curie wants to help people share the stories behind their daffodil pins and bring those stories together on the Great Big Daffodil; further notes that, inside each petal of the Great Big Daffodil, there is a book in which people can write something or place a photo; understands that the stories about someone special will be brought together with others from across the UK and celebrated at a special event on 20 March, and encourages people to get involved in this free public event to show support for Marie Curie and its work caring and supporting people with terminal illness.
