Apprenticeship Success for Joe Pirrie
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Glenrothes teenager, Joe Pirrie, who has secured a job offer in his dream career thanks to a Foundation Apprenticeship in Children and Young People as a subject choice in fifth year; understands that Joe has to manage dyslexia and dyspraxia, which meant that he struggled with some aspects of school and was considering leaving, however he is now Head Boy at Glenrothes High School; notes that Foundation Apprenticeships give senior pupils the opportunity to get out of the classroom and get work-based learning to gain a qualification at the same level as a Higher; acknowledges that Joe is now in the second year of his apprenticeship and gaining work experience at Little Einstein’s Nursery, while taking Nationals in Media Studies and Modern Studies, wishes Joe the best of luck with his education and his future career.
