Investing in Care Staff

That the Parliament congratulates Lynsey Young, a care manager from Garelochhead, on gaining an SVQ through her work at Mears Care Argyll; encourages all employers in the care sector to invest in qualifications and the upskilling of their staff; considers that employers should cover the cost of the investment as it will assist with the retention of care staff; understands that it will be compulsory for social services staff to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council; commends Lynsey for her efforts in professional development, and wishes her continued success.
