Disabled Access Day
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Disabled Access Day, which will be marked on 16 March 2019, with the aim of celebrating good access for disabled people; believes that, for many disabled people, experiences such as going on tours and attending performances, can cause anxiety; notes that the day helps to increase awareness of this issue and encourages people to try something new with the aim of sharing their story so that others can follow; acknowledges that it is sponsored by Euan’s Guide, which is a website that rates places based on how disabled-friendly they are, and thanks all of the venues that plan to participate, including Edinburgh Zoo, which is promoting the mobility vehicles that it uses in its Budongo Trail and uses a BSL interpreter at its daily talks programme.
