Jill Carrick, Dean of the Greenock Faculty of Procurators

That the Parliament congratulates Jill Carrick on her appointment as the Dean of the Faculty of Procurators in Greenock; understands that Jill is the first woman to take up the post in the organisation’s 200-year history; recognises her contribution to the town over the last 36 years and extensive experience working as a solicitor in family and child law cases; notes that the Law Society is marking 100 years of women in law and its own 70th anniversary in 2019; understands that 52% of Scotland's solicitors, and 68% of new trainees, are female; welcomes the First 100 Years project, which documents the journey of women in the legal profession since 1919, and wishes Jill the best of luck in her new post.
