Miscarriage Information Support Service Achieves Charitable Status
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Miscarriage Information Support Service (MISS) has now been registered as a charity; commends Abi Clarke on setting up the organisation in 2017 with the aim of offering support in Aberdeen for women and partners who have experienced a miscarriage; understands that MISS hosts free, confidential support groups every month at Curl Aberdeen and Rubislaw Church, featuring speakers from healthcare and activities including mindfulness and yoga; recognises that the support group offers the opportunity to speak to others and/or listen to health professionals, without placing any obligation on participants to discuss their experience; notes that a MISS fundraising Race Night will be held at The Ashvale on Great Western Road on 29 March 2019, and wishes Abi and MISS continued success in their endeavours.
