WHEC Achieves Fairtrade Status
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates pupils at Wester Hailes Education Centre on it achieving Fairtrade status at levels one and two; understands that the pupils were presented with the FairAware and FairActive certificates, which were achieved through a range of activities that helped them to understand their own role in the promotion of Fairtrade, and taking action such as hosting cake sales and school breakfasts using Fairtrade products; notes that pupils are currently working to achieve level 3 status, where the school will have fully embedded Fairtrade into its daily life and will be working to raise awareness of Fairtrade throughout the community, and wishes all pupils and staff all the very best in continuing to promote and live by Fairtrade principles.
