Publication of Highway Through History
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the publication of the book, Highway Through History, which is about ancient artefacts uncovered during excavation work on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route; notes that the book, which was published by Headland Archaeology, covers the history of the north-east land over a period of 15,000 years, from the end of the Ice Age and beginnings of human activity up to the Roman Empire; understands that discovered artefacts include Ice Age stone tools and Roman bread ovens discovered in Milltimber; notes that the book will be made publicly available on Transport Scotland’s website, in libraries and in schools across Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire, as well as in Aberdeenshire Council’s headquarters; encourages people to learn about these exciting discoveries, and passes on its congratulations and best wishes to all involved in the book’s creation.
