The Standard of Cycle Routes
The motion
That the Parliament regrets that just 1.5% of journeys in Scotland are made by bicycle, according to the latest figures by Transport Scotland, despite a target to reach 10% by 2020; recognises that cycle routes, particularly National Cycle Network routes, and roads need to be at kept at a suitable standard for cyclists to use safely and with confidence, and believes that increasing the proportion of active travel journeys is a worthwhile aim that will benefit everyone.
