Orcadian Climber, Kirsty Copland

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Kirsty Copland, who is from Orkney, on becoming the Youth E Girls champion at the 2019 Scottish Climbing Finals, which took place on 23-24 March at the Boulder Climbing Academy in Glasgow; understands that Kirsty scored 80 points for bouldering and 90 for roped climbing to win the title by five points; notes that she will now represent Scotland at the Youth Climbing Series Grand Final in Sheffield in April; commends Kirsty on her commitment, determination and skill; applauds the other seven Orcadian competitors at the finals, who all finished in the top ten of their respective categories; notes that the Climb Scotland Youth Climbing Series (YCS) is the national youth competition that brings together climbers from all over the country to help select the national YCS team and squad, and wishes Kirsty, and everyone competing for Scotland in Sheffield, the very best of luck.
