East Kilbride Housing Association, Helping to End Period Poverty
The motion
That the Parliament understands that the East Kilbride Housing Association (EKHA) is the first association to go into partnership with the social enterprise, Hey Girls, and will offer access to free period products to its staff and to householders in all of its 524 homes; notes that Hey Girls provides free menstrual products and educational resources to girls across the UK who are in need; acknowledges that its partnership with EKHA, as part of the Buy One, Give One project, means that the association’s period products’ orders will be matched by the social enterprise and will be distributed to help end period poverty, and congratulates the board and staff of EKHA on this initiative, which it considers demonstrates the community-based ethos of the organisation.
