Fife College Anti-smoking Awareness Project

That the Parliament commends the efforts of Fife College students to encourage young people to quit smoking, or to be put off from starting; understands that the project, in collaboration with the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, involved students from its BA Visual Communications and Digital Publishing course being challenged to create interactive ways to raise awareness of the benefits of being a non-smoker; notes that three of the creations, an interactive infographic on the health benefits of not smoking, a video game showing a visual representation of how smoking affects the strength of the heart and lungs, and a series of smoking shelter graphics with environmental messages about the impact of tobacco on climate change, were selected to be implemented throughout Fife, and recognises the value of organisations collaborating with the students to give them industry experience while using the students' skills for the benefit of the community.
