International Transgender Day of Visibility
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that 31 March 2019 marked the International Transgender Day of Visibility, which highlights the diversity of the transgender community representing all racial and ethnic backgrounds, as well as faith backgrounds; understands that, last year, more than a third of trans people in the UK were victims of hate crime; considers that the day represents a chance to stand in solidarity with trans friends, family and colleagues, and hopes that all people can continue to strive towards creating a world where everyone can live their lives openly and freely.
