Wishaw and District BB Band Wins National Contest
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Wishaw and District Boys' Brigade (BB) Band on winning a national title at the 2019 BB Scottish Bands Contest on 23 March at Hutcheson’s Grammar School in Glasgow; notes that the band, which is made up of members of the area's boys' and girls' brigades, was awarded first place in the Marching Band category; recognises that the band was originally formed in 1967 and has played at all but two national contests since 1980; believes that the BB provides opportunities to learn and develop skills and interests through a varied programme, which offers fun and exciting activities for young people aged from 5 to 18; recognises the dedication and commitment of everyone involved in the Wishaw and District band, and wishes them all well in their endeavours.
