Scrap Visa Fees for Commonwealth Veterans
The motion
That the Parliament thanks all service personnel for their service to the country; acknowledges the sacrifices that their service entails; welcomes veterans from throughout the Commonwealth who choose to settle in the Clackmannanshire and Dunblane constituency and across Scotland after serving in the British Armed Forces; understands that the costs to apply for indefinite leave to remain upon completing at least four years of service have risen by 127% since 2014, and notes the calls on the UK Government to scrap the visa fees of £2,389 per person, which it understands means that it costs a family of four £9,556 to choose to live in Scotland.
