Fully-paid 26-week Equal Parental Leave for all Diageo UK Employees
The motion
That the Parliament commends Diageo UK for providing fully-paid parental leave for their employees, regardless of gender, sexual orientation or whether they become parents biologically, via surrogacy or adopt; understands that new parents are entitled to a full year’s parental leave with the first 26 weeks fully paid; notes that its new policy also strengthens support for parents, such as keeping in touch days, parental coaching, flexible working policies and access to free independent counselling; recognises the difference that a progressive policy such as this can make to the lives of Diageo’s employees of any gender across Scotland who wish to have a family and maintain fulfilling and rewarding employment, and hopes that more employers will strengthen their parental leave policies to provide the best support that they can for new parents.
