The Friendship Cabin to Extend Services
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the expansion of the Friendship Cabin, which provides a lifeline service to lonely and isolated people; notes that the service, which started in Kirkcaldy, opened its doors in Glenrothes in 2018 after learning that there was a huge need for its service in the town; understands that it is hosting a curry afternoon as a fundraising event and to celebrate the news of the expansion; commends the team of 10 dedicated volunteers who run the group; notes that they are keen to let even more people know about the service, which was initially aiming towards at people aged 65 and over, but is now reaching out to people aged from 40 onwards, and wishes The Friendship Cabin the best of luck with this expansion and every success with its work.
