Lodged by Margaret Mitchell Standard Motion 17 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament notes that the Hamilton-based Manda Centre has recently relocated to the Hamilton Business Centre, which opened on 1 April 2019; believes that the move will provide a continuity of location and access for its service users; notes that the Manda Centre supports people affected by trauma, loss and personal crisis, including the impact of suicide, homicide or incidents such as road traffic accidents; acknowledges that it also helps families with children diagnosed with profound and multiple learning disabilities, people who feel that they lost an expected childhood experience and carers who are experiencing the sense of losing a loved one because of conditions such as dementia; notes that the centre does this by providing practical and emotional support, advocacy, group therapy and counselling and holistic and psychotherapies; believes that the business centre, which was previously known as the CAMHS building will help it provide all of these services, and wishes the Manda Centre well with its work.
