Funding for Shetland Women's Aid
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Shetland Women’s Aid on being awarded funding of £280,716 from the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland; understands that the funding will be used to support service users by providing a three-stage trauma recovery programme to help break cycles of abuse across adult, young people's and children’s services; further understands that the five-year project will provide one-to-one and group therapy sessions, as well as a refuge when needed, and will help encourage services users to re-engage with their local community; considers the funding award thoroughly deserved, and commends the work of Shetland Women’s Aid and Women's Aid services across Scotland.
