West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swimming Club Awarded £30,000

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swimming Club on being awarded £30,000 by sportscotland; understands that the funding will be made available over a four-year period and will enable a part-time development coach to be employed; welcomes that this new position will be used to help increase both membership levels and participation in a range of activities; notes that the club is working towards making the new position self-sufficient; believes that participation in physical activities such as swimming should be encouraged at all levels, especially among young people, as part of a healthy lifestyle, and wishes both the club and its members well with these efforts to expand.
