Celebrating Renfrew’s Community Spirit and Retail Offerings
The motion
That the Parliament recognises what it considers the many wonderful businesses and local traders in Renfrew that contribute to a thriving community spirit; understands that high streets across Scotland are facing challenges; notes with disappointment the findings of a recent survey carried out by Harper Dennis Hobbs, which ranked Renfrew’s retail centre the lowest in the country; further notes that an online poll for the Paisley Gazette found that a majority thought the ranking was unfair on Renfrew; believes that Renfrew has much to offer and be proud of; joins with calls from local businesses for greater support from Renfrewshire Council, and encourages people in the local community and beyond to visit and shop in Renfrew.
