2019 Edinburgh Diwali Festival
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Edinburgh Diwali Festival on being awarded £50,000 by the People’s Projects; notes that this award will permit the group to expand its annual festival to include a four-day programme of events in Princes Street Gardens and a Festival of Lights; recognises the cultural importance of the Edinburgh Diwali Festival for people in the capital city who observe and participate in Diwali, and commends Dhall Mohindra for his work as president of the Edinburgh Diwali and for his engagement with the wider community.
