Stromness Drama Club "Breaks a Leg" at the Scottish Drama Final
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Stromness Drama Club on winning the finals of the Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA) One Act Play Festival on 27 April 2019 in Kirkcaldy; understands that the club's performance of Shakers, which was written by John Godber and Jane Thornton, was awarded the top prize, while Graham Garson won the award for best director; recognises that this latest achievement is the latest in a long line of success at the festival for the club, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, having been founded in November 1989; notes that the club will now go on to represent Scotland at the UK finals in Harrogate and that this will be is the perfect way to mark the anniversary; wishes it every success at the UK finals and in its other endeavours, and thanks the SCDA for its continued contribution to community drama across the country.
