NHS Forth Valley Royal Hospital Excellence Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH) on being selected to receive an Excellence Award from Building with Nature, the UK’s first benchmark for green infrastructure; understands that Building with Nature has said the hospital should be regarded as a national exemplar of what can be achieved when a shared vision for protecting and enhancing landscape is incorporated into the early design stages of projects, like FVRH; notes that the award commends the partnership working between NHS Forth Valley, Forestry Commission Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage, along with architects Ian White Associates, which it states delivered an exceptional medical facility in a high-quality landscape setting; encourages others to follow on from the example set by the standards at FVRH, which it understands was the largest NHS project ever to be undertaken when it was completed in 2011, and looks forward to more examples being set for development in Scotland in the future.
