Albion Rovers FC
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Albion Rovers FC on winning its fight to stay in the Scottish professional football league; applauds the endeavour of the manager, Kevin Harper, his management team, and all the players on making this achievement possible; notes that 2019 is the 100th anniversary of the club playing at its current home at Cliftonhill Stadium; further notes with sadness that the club suffered tragedy in March 2019 when the goalkeeping coach, Michael Duke, passed away; acknowledges the overwhelming recent support and good will that the club has received from across Coatbridge, from community organisations, businesses, local celebrities and politicians among others, and wishes the club every success in the future.
