89th Stenhousemuir Scouts Awarded SUEZ Communities Trust Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the 89th Stenhousemuir Scout Group on being awarded £39,299 by the SUEZ Communities Trust; understands that this funding, which is being donated by SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK, will be used to install a new pitched roof at the Scout hall, which was built in the 1960s with a flat roof that required a lot of upkeep and repair; recognises the importance of youth groups and organisations, such as the Scouts and Guides, and the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade, in providing an outlet for young people to take part in activities, while learning skills such as communication and leadership; acknowledges the positive impact that it believes these groups and organisations have in promoting social cohesion in their communities and in striving to ensure that young people have opportunities to learn about themselves, have fun and learn practical skills at the same time; encourages more young people to seek out and join their local youth group or organisation, and wishes everyone at the Stenhousemuir Scout group the very best with the upgraded facility.
