That the Parliament welcomes the event, Citizen, which will take place on 11 May 2019; notes that it is being organised by the Edinburgh International Book Festival, which it believes is the largest and most dynamic festival of its kind, in partnership with North Edinburgh Arts, which provides residents with a place to explore, learn, meet and have fun, with over 34,000 visits made to it in the last year; understands that the afternoon-long celebration will take place in areas including Muirhouse, Wester Hailes and Moredun and will have a programme that includes Citizen Stories and Eat Together; hopes that it will provide an opportunity for people across the city to come together, share their stories and tell the world what it means to live in Edinburgh, and believes that this celebration will reflect the capital's reputation as a diverse world-renowned cultural hub.
