Lodged by Jackie Baillie (Scottish Labour) Standard Motion 2 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament notes the recent announcement by the water regulator for England and Wales (Ofwat) of real terms reductions in customers' water bills over the next five-year period; further notes the commitments to reduce the level of water lost through leakage, to improve financial support to customers facing difficulty in paying bills, to continue investment in infrastructure and to support the creation of community funds among other measures announced, and looks forward to Scottish Water exceeding the achievements of these privatised water companies in England and demonstrating the benefits to consumers of public ownership of water services in Scotland.
