100% Price Increase on Community Alarms
The motion
That the Parliament regrets West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s decision to implement a 100% price increase in the cost of community alarms; considers that the users of these alarms are vulnerable residents, many of whom are older people and live in sheltered housing; further considers that such a significant increase is unaffordable for people on low and fixed incomes; understands that some 200 people have already cancelled the service and believes that this runs contrary to the policy of helping people to remain in their own homes, and calls on West Dunbartonshire Health and Care Partnership to urgently review the increased charge.
