Congratulations to the Pollokshaws Community Hub
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Pollokshaws Community Hub on hosting, developing and managing the successful Pollokshaws Support Project pilot; notes that this project has addressed an unmet demand for advice and support from residents within and beyond the Pollokshaws area, providing support in housing issues, assisting in benefit enquiries, accessing social services and breaking down social isolation and other barriers to participants; further notes that it has also supported developing the skills, knowledge and confidence of the many volunteers who provide support; acknowledges that the success of this pilot project has encouraged the team to successfully seek funding for the longer term future of the project and to extend the hours to a full-time service, and looks forward to working with the team in the coming months and years.
