Police Scotland Youth Volunteer Fundraiser for the Orkney Drugs Dog
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) in Orkney on raising £2,500 to support the Orkney Drugs Dog initiative; understands that the group raised the funds by holding an emergency services fun day, which included stalls and a youth café that attracted a good turnout; believes that the PSYV is an excellent programme that helps young people across Scotland develop invaluable skills as well as an understanding of the work undertaken by police officers and staff; recognises that the Orkney Drugs Dog Committee works hard to highlight the devastating impact that drug misuse and abuse has on people, friends and families; notes that the committee relies on fundraising to help support a trained dog and handler on the islands and that this money will help significantly to secure the future of the service, and wishes all involved with PSYV and the drugs dog initiative well.
