North Lanarkshire Befriending Project Celebrates 20 Years
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Volunteering Matters North Lanarkshire Befriending Project on celebrating its 20th anniversary; understands that the Motherwell-based charity provides a befriending service to isolated, vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the North Lanarkshire area; commends the initiative on the positive changes that it has made to young people’s lives through support in developing social skills, encouraging school attendance and performance and building self-esteem; acknowledges the tireless work of the project's dedicated volunteers, and wishes them every success for the future.
