Dumfries and Galloway to Host Cycling Tour of Britain
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that stage one of the Tour of Britain will finish in Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway; notes that this is the 10th time that the region will have hosted the race; further notes that the race will attract top riders and teams from around the world; believes that this will help attract visitors to Dumfries and Galloway, which will boost the local economy; encourages locals and visitors to support the event; hopes that it will encourage active sporting participation in Kirkcudbright and beyond, and wishes the organisers all the best for the event.
