Supporting Women’s Enterprise
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recommendation of the Economy, Energy and Fair Work Committee, and the subsequent commitment of the Scottish Government, to establish a national Head of Women in Business and a national Women’s Business Centre; believes that this level of strategic engagement could help unlock the £7.6 billion economic potential of women in Scotland; understands that it will encourage and extend good practice in economic development delivery; believes that the reach of a national centre and regional hubs will provide support to communities and economically empower women across the country, and calls on the Scottish Government to outline the next steps to securing the Head of Women in Business and the national Women’s Business Centre before the end of the parliamentary session.
