Helensburgh's Dorian Choir
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Dorian Choir, Helensburgh’s oldest choir, on its 70th anniversary; notes that it was set up in 1949 by James MacTaggart; understands that the celebratory concert illustrated the choir's journey by featuring music from all seven of the decades that the choir has been in existence; commends the choir's musical director, Sian Winstanley, who has strengthened the choir since joining in 2017; understands that the choir is growing and commends initiatives taken to attract younger members; wishes it the best of luck for the future, and encourages people to attend the Come and Sing event on 17 August 2019 to find out more about the choir.
