Remembering Harry Hood
The motion
That the Parliament pays tribute to the football legend, Harry Hood, who died on 26 May 2019; recognises that Harry had a successful career with Celtic between 1969 and 1976, making 310 appearances and scoring 123 goals, including a hat-trick in 1973 against Old Firm rivals, Rangers; notes that, as a successful and respected businessman, Harry achieved his third lifetime achievement award at the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards in 2018; acknowledges that he was the founder of the Lisini Pub Co group and was admired by his staff and all who worked with him in the licensing industry; commends Harry's work in spearheading fundraising efforts, including supporting St Andrew’s Hospice and raising £50,000 for the Beatson Cancer Charity, which helped care for him throughout his illness; acknowledges that he was a devoted family man, and sends its condolences to Harry's wife, Kathleen, his children, Lisa, Siobhan and Nicholas, and his five grandchildren.
