The Grand Prix Walk, Celebrating the Achievements of Sir Jackie Stewart
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West Dunbartonshire Council and the Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland on organising the Grand Prix Walk in Levengrove Park on 11 June 2019, which is both the birthday of the Dumbarton-born Formula 1 legend, Sir Jackie Stewart, also the 50th anniversary of the first of his wins; understands that the walk will not only celebrate the achievements of one of the most successful Scottish sportspersons ever, but will also encourage people from the area to get active and experience the beautiful surroundings of the park; wishes the event every success, particularly with raising funds for Sir Jackie’s charity foundation, Race Against Dementia, and wishes Sir Jackie a very happy birthday.
