Jayden Bennett
The motion
That the Parliament commends 11-year-old Jayden Bennett, who attends the 33rd Greenock and District Scout Group, for putting the skills that he learned in the Scouts to use when he attended to a man having an epileptic fit outside of his school; notes that the Whinhill Primary School pupil immediately phoned for an ambulance and prepared to put the man in the recovery position before an off-duty firefighter came on the scene alongside his head teacher, Elizabeth Ruddy; understands that Jayden ran to meet the paramedics before helping them to load their equipment back into the ambulance as they took the man to hospital; is relieved to hear that the man made a full recovery; believes that Jayden’s knowledge of first aid that he learned at the Scouts informed him of what to do, and applauds him for reacting so quickly.
