Campaign for "Untransmittable" to be Added to the OED

Lodged by Kezia Dugdale Standard Motion 4 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes moves by HIV Scotland to have the word "untransmittable" added to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED); recognises that the word has been used globally as part of the U=U campaign, reflecting the scientific evidence that someone living with HIV who is on treatment and has an undetectable viral load cannot pass the virus on to their sexual partners, and urges the Oxford University Press to add the word to its next update to recognise what it sees as this important scientific advance in the fight against HIV-stigma.
