World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

That the Parliament recognises that World Elder Abuse Awareness Day takes place on 15 June 2019, which highlights the commitment to end the abuse and exploitation of older people; understands the need to raise awareness of elder abuse to encourage older people and others to speak up; acknowledges the work of Action on Elder Abuse Scotland, particularly its efforts to bring out about tougher prosecutions for those who deliberately target older people on the grounds of vulnerability, and hopes that it is able to continue providing local communities with vital support for vulnerable members of UK society.
