Craigmarloch Pupil, Calvin Barron, Designs Winning App
The motion
That the Parliament commends Calvin Barron, who is a pupil at Craigmarloch School in Inverclyde, on designing an award-winning app, Munchie Maths, which teaches children skills in handling finances; understands that the pupils at the school were visited by engineers and managers from the JP Morgan Glasgow Technology Centre as part of an app design competition, Make It Happen, which aims to inspire children’s digital learning; recognises that once the app has been developed, the school will be given a code that will allow the teachers and pupils to take it forward and develop it further; believes that this is a fantastic opportunity for the young people to improve their digital learning and increase their confidence, and commends the Make It Happen project for encouraging schools to develop their own apps.
