Leeann Jenkinson Recognised at Scottish Learning Disability Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Leeann Jenkinson, who works as an employability advisor at West College Scotland’s Greenock campus, on receiving the top award in the Support at Work category at the Scottish Learning Disability Awards in May 2019; understands that Leeann helped Sean Devlin from Inverclyde, who has a rare brain disease, to secure his first job working at the new Inverkip Community Hub; notes that Sean is now undertaking a modern apprenticeship there and nominated Leeann for the award, together with Kevin Rogers, the hub’s manager; considers that, for the last eight years, Leeann has been going above and beyond to change the lives of young people with learning disabilities in the Inverclyde area, and thanks her for being so dedicated in her role and for helping people like Sean reach their full potential.
